Atherosclerosis is a major contributor to cardiovascular disease.1 Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) can result from high levels of cholesterol – specifically low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).1
The good news? High LDL-C has been treatable for decades. Statins are the medications most often recommended by treatment guidelines for the management of blood cholesterol.1
The bad news? Sometimes statins alone are not enough to optimize LDL-C.2
